Enjoying the Maine Coast

Summers in Maine mean always changing weather and forces one to be flexible with plans. No matter what the weather, Overlook is a wonderful place to experience it all. As a child, I remember rushing outside to the tower porch with my dad and watching, feeling, smelling the thunderstorms as they cross the Kennebec River. I remember hiding under the tower from torrential downpours and being amazed at the size of the raindrops. Last but not least, I remember my parents with their coffees and me, with my milk, hanging out in the rising sunshine and inhaling the salty, fresh-cut grass smell that consumes so many of our summer days. Now, I'm not the only one to enjoy all of the Maine weather at the Point. Here are some things our guests are saying:

Our favorite part of our stay was "the character of your home - kitchen was great and where we spent most evenings playing games and cards. The solitude and quiet." - Murray family 2015

"The toy and book library was a hit!" - Farnum family 2015

"We loved the mudflats and clamming. We loved he outdoor fires at night. We cooked all our meals at home so we loved the well-appointed kitchen. The beds were all comfortable. We loved getting lobsters from the Georgetown Store, trips to Reid State Park, a day trip to Mohegan Island, the tennis court and more. Overall, we loved our stay and Kennebec Point!" - Dunn family 2014
